The USA News New Leaks Confirm Black Panther 2’s Atlantis Connection and a Possible Namor Appearence
The MCU slate for 2022 is one for the ages, with projects involving Doctor Strange and Thor set to release this year. However, along with that, Wakanda will also make a reappearance for the first time, since the death of Chadwick Boseman in 2020
The upcoming movie titled Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will mostly revolve around the character’s mantle, and a lot of questions have been brought up about T’Challa’s successor.
Black Panther 2 was rumored to feature the Atlantean Namor, and those rumors may be true based on a new photo featuring an underwater set.
Plot details for the long-awaited Black Panther: Wakanda Forever have been kept under wraps, but one rumor that has continued to brew all throughout the film’s production is the Atlantean anti-hero Namor having a role in the film. Now, a new behind-the-scenes photo that reveals an underwater set may confirm Namor’s appearance in Black Panther 2.
Namor the Submariner, who was first introduced in Marvel Comics #1 in 1939, is the son of a mortal sea captain and an Atlantis princess. Being one of the first superheroes in comic history, Namor has crossed paths with many other heroes such as Captain America and the Fantastic Four.
He seeks to protect his kingdom against any rivals, including the Wakandans, so seeing two advanced, hidden civilizations that clash together might just be what Black Panther-2 will center on, especially if the sequel looks to carry over many of the same mature, geopolitical themes explored in its predecessor.
Rumors have circulated for months that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever would mark the on-screen appearance of Namor the Submariner into the MCU. Introduced in Marvel Comics #1 in 1939, Namor is among one of the first superheroes in comics history and has been a major part of the Marvel Universe,
having crossed paths with the likes of Captain America, the Fantastic Four, Doctor Doom, and many more in the comics and has been a character many have been waiting to see make the leap to the big screen. A recent rumor said that Namor’s role in the film would be similar to T’Challa’s in Captain America: Civil War, as it would lay the groundwork for the character’s solo film and possible franchise.
Who is Definitely in the Black Panther 2 Cast
A lot of familiar characters are coming back for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Though there have been a ton of rumors about her leaving the MCU, Letitia Wright is still set to return as Shuri and possibly take up the Black Panther mantle.
Some rumors report that this will be her last movie with the MCU. If Disney’s recent history of desperately trying to avoid controversy is anything to plan on, it might be a minute before Shuri comes back. Some fans predict Winston Duke’s M’Baku will take up the mantle after Shuri.
Also returning is Daniel Kaluuya as W’Kabi,Martin Freeman as Everett Ross, Danai Gurira as Okoye, Winston Duke as M’Baku, Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, and Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia. A lot of Marvel movies are very much about the person they’re named after, but Black Panther really had some fantastic supporting roles. W’Kabi is coming back.
So we get to see how he’s doing after having to confront his betrayal of his king, Killmonger dying, and Wakanda’s outreach to the rest of the world. He ended up being a kind of moral middle ground between Wakanda’s isolationism and Killmonger’s violent redistribution of power. Also he has a rhino!
The return of Danai Gurira’s Okoye also marks the return of one of the coolest women in the MCU. Okoye’s loyalty to Wakanda over the king she loved and her husband was such a standout moment that we’re kind of anxious to see how her character is doing. A leak suggested that Disney is going to have T’challa pass from an illness in honor of Chadwick baseman That sounds like a rough time for Okoye, Lupita Nyong’o’s Naki, and really everyone who is in Black Panther 2.
